Nalandra is pleased to present a Tibetan language/literature course for keen scholars and students. The course will run for 8 weeks in term 2, in place of Zimo’g Rinpoche’s Wednesday evening teaching class while he is on Sabbatical leave.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some basic skills in Tibetan language. The teacher, Tsering Dorje, has previously taught several Tibetan Language classes at Nalandra. He is highly skilled and approachable, and willing to run advanced classes following this course.
About the teacher.
Tsering Dorje was born in Tibet and graduated in Tibetan Language and Literature at the Normal University of Qinghai in Tibet. He also speaks and writes fluently in English and Chinese. He was a teacher in Tibetan middle schools for several years and has worked as an interpreter and translator for English organisations in Utsang, Amdo, and Kham of Tibet.
In 2005 Tsering Dorje had to leave Tibet to live in India where he worked as a senior researcher at Tibet Watch, a British human right research charity in Dharamsala. He also wrote articles on current affairs of Tibet for the Tibetan newspapers in exile.
We invite new visitors with pride and pleasure to our recently established Buddhist environment, which supports all sentient beings and particularly followers of the new era of Buddhism.
