Rinpoche will soon depart for five months in retreat at the Nalandra Padma Retreat Centre (PRC) in Bhanodi, India. Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, the PRC is a spiritual hub for local people. Many will travel from afar to greet their Guru, perform practices with him at the beginning of his retreat, and help with completing the next phase of construction to fulfil Rinpoche’s vision for the Centre (see our website for more details).
There are many single mothers in the Bhanodi area as well as orphaned children. As with previous trips, Rinpoche will again carry a suitcase full of quality second-hand children’s clothing and shoes to donate to local children. These along with toys, art supplies and monetary gifts donated by Rinpoche and his students have been very gratefully received by the local children and their carers in the past. While Rinpoche’s suitcase has been filled for this trip, the opportunity is ripe to make a monetary donation, or sponsor a child’s education and health care costs. The Australian dollar goes a long way in India and every amount makes a significant difference to the children’s lives.
If you would like to make a donation, Nalandra’s bank account details are below (please include Bhanodi in the description). Alternatively you may make a cash donation this Saturday so that Rinpoche can take it with him when he leaves in mid May.
If you would like to send Rinpoche farewell wishes, please visit our website and leave your comments.
